The city inherits from the past a long range of rich historical, cultural, ethnographic, architectural and religious values, which are a significant potential for tourism. The Ethnographic Museum in Berat was inaugurated in 1979. It includes the folk ethnographic culture of Berat Treves, as well as that of South Albania. The museum is housed in a two-storey three-century building, typical of the Beratas Treves. On the first floor is a hall where a medieval alley with traditional shops on its two sides is imitated. In this hall there is also an antiquity ward. Similarly, on the first floor are placed objects that are used for olive processing. On the second floor there is an open court waiting room for guests.
